About the Mongolian Consulate General

ABOUT US

The Mongolian Consulate-General in Sydney was established in March 1997 at the time of the first official visit to Australia by the President of Mongolia.

ACTIVITIES

The principal activities of the Consulate are to provide assistance to Mongolian citizens in Australia and to facilitate and encourage the development of relations between Mongolia and Australia. Mongolia welcomes tourists and a major activity of the Consulate the issue of visas for travel to Mongolia.

OFFICE HOURS

The Honorary Consulate-General is in North Sydney, office is open for visa processing on Tuesday and Friday every week between 10:00am and 4:00pm. Please use the office telephone answering machine to leave messages and we will call you back as soon as possible. Otherwise send us an email (monconoz@yahoo.com).

We are authorised to issue a single-entry visas.

  • Visas are valid for up to 30 days in Mongolia.
  • Visas are valid for 90 days from date of issue. You must enter Mongolia before the last date shown, after which you get 30 days in Mongolia.
  • Single-entry visas are also available at the airport on arrival at a cost of US$50.

However, if travelling by train you must have a visa before you arrive at the border.
